STEAM challenges

STEAM is a building block for STEAM. STEAM education makes its focus the application of science, technology, engineering and math through art and design. STEAM Challenges is an online course for curious students that enjoy hands-on activities and experiential learning. Students will be instructed to use diverse materials and tools that they can find (or make) at home in order to discover how various things and processes work. 

Age: 7-13 years old       Topics: 11                 Duration: 4 weeks, 3 sessions per week        Number of sessions: 12 

Each session contains 1-2 videos (with introduction to the topic, necessary explanations, a task is presented, experiments, etc.), powerpoint presentation with key information, worksheet with a key (to revise the main points and reflect on the activities they have done), materials to be printed out if necessary. This course will help students to revise many things they have heard in their science classes and strengthen their knowledge as they are not only going to be explained how things work, but they will be encouraged to make predictions, think systematically and apply the information they learn along the way, as well as test the theories, experiment, and look for innovative and creative ways to solve problems, or think about new solutions. 

We will have a look at various topics that include learning to make a homemade invisible ink, pH indicator; exploring natural forces, etc. This course offers an excellent way to feed students’ curiosity and to work on their 21st century skills development while having fun.
